Cleopatra is a beautiful ragdoll mix momma cat. She came to us with five 3 week old ragdoll mix babies. We rescued Cleo from a kill shelter this past Saturday. She did great til Tuesday - when she stopped eating, started vomiting, and wouldn’t let her babies nurse.
We rushed Cleo to the vet Tuesday afternoon. They gave her an antibiotic shot and sub-q fluids. Our vet was hoping it was primarily dehydration.
But today, Wednesday, Cleo is still vomiting and still not eating.
Our vet wants to do labwork to help determine what’s going on. The primary concern is pyometra, a very serious uterine infection that could be deadly. If the labs show a high white blood cell count, the course of action is an emergency spay to remove the infected uterus.
Please help us to help Cleo!! We want her to be happy and healthy again - and to be able to raise her children!!
